AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE DUNMERE PARK BIKE PATH BRIDGE PROJECT, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Dunmere Park Bike Path Bridge
Project on December 3, 1998, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of
$68,725.00 plus the Bid Alternate One (1) in the amount of $4,200.00, for a total amount
of $72,925.00 submitted by Paul Vlack Company is the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 1998 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the base bid in the amount of $68,725.00 plus the Bid Alternate One (1) in
the amount of $4,200.00, for a total of $72,925.00 submitted by Paul Vlack Company is
hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Paul
Vlack Company for completion of the bike path bridge project, pursuant to the bid
specifications and documents on file in the office of the Grounds and Facilities division
Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
health, safety and welfare of the residents of this City, and for the further reason that
emergency action is necessary in order to complete the project prior to the onset of
inclement weather. Therefore, this ordinance shall take effect upon passage.

On Thursday December3, 1998, bids were opened on Dunmere Park Bike Path Bridge Project, an approved
CIP at 10:00 a.m.
The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $82,000.00. Five (5) bids were received.

This project consists of the construction of a bikepath bridge.
Staff is recommending acceptance of Paul Vlack Company's base bid plus Bid Alternate One (1), for a total
contract amount of $72,925.00. Paul Vlack has previously done work for the City of Dublin, and their work
has been most satisfactory.
