An Ordinance Amending The Annual Appropriations Ordinance For The
Fiscal Year Ending December 31,1998
WHEREAS, Section 5705.40 of the Ohio Revised Code allows for supplemental
appropriations to be made to an appropriations measure provided sufficient resources
are available; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code requires, when necessary, amendments to the
annual appropriations measure be made in order that appropriations are not over
expended; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide adequate funding for various operating
accounts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. There be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the General
Fund the amount of $15,700. Of the total, $3,700 is to be appropriated to account
101-0221-710-2340 for County Auditor and Treasurer fees and $12,000 to account
101-0114-710-2340 for the boarding of prisoners.
Section 2. There be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Hotel/Motel
Tax Fund the amount of $16,600. Of the total, $15,500 is to be appropriated to
account 217-0113-740-2349 for services related to the Irish Festival and $1,100 to
account 217-0113-740-2910 for refunds.
Section 3. The public hearing be waived to provide immediate funding for the above
accounts in order that appropriations are not over expended.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Dublin City Charter.

Appropriations

This Ordinance requests supplemental appropriations for the following reasons:
Section 1 -the additional request for County Auditor and Treasurer fees relates to the fees
charged by the three County Auditors and Treasurers for collection and distribution of the City's
property tax revenues and the request for prisoner boarding is the result of several long term jail
sentences given by the Mayor in Mayor's Court.
Section 2 -the requests for additional appropriation in Hotel/Motel Tax Fund are the result of
adding new elements to the Irish Festival that had not been anticipated and for refunds issued for
event registrations. The new elements added to the Irish Festival included a golf clinic, an
interactive golf tent and sand art display .
