Form No. 30043 65-OS Ordinance No. Passed 20 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 0.950 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND, FROM CARL W. KARRER, TRUSTEE OF THE EMMETT H. KARRER FAMILY TRUST, LOCATED AT 6199 HIGH STREET, TOWNSHIP OF WASHINGTON, COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO WHEREAS, the City of Dublin desires to preserve and maintain the barn located on the property to preserve its significant historical character to the City of Dublin; and WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an agreement to purchase a 0.950 acre, more or less, tract of land for the preservation of open space and the barn located thereon for its significant historical character to the City of Dublin for $150,000.00; and WHEREAS, the aforementioned objectives will require the City of Dublin to obtain a fee simple interest in the 0.950 acre, more or less, premises located at 6199 High Street, in the Township of Washington, Franklin County, Ohio, as legal described and depicted on the attached Exhibit "A". NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement to Purchase and any necessary closing documents related to the acquisition of the 0.950 acre, more or less, tract of land and paying any related costs. Section 2. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare of the City, and for the further reason that it will enable the City to facilitate a timely closing date for the seller. Therefore, this ordinance shall be effective upon passage. Karrer, Trustee, Property located at 6199 High Street (Karrer Barn) Summary: In the City's ongoing effort to provide open space and preserve historical community features, ordinance #65-OS provides for the purchase of the Karrer barn and 0.950 acres of surrounding land located on the southern edge of Historic Dublin. 'The agreed purchase price is $150,000. This location is listed in the draft Historic Dublin Revitalization Plan as a potential park. The legal description and survey is attached for your review. To ensure timely closing, staff will request emergency authorization at the second reading to dispense with the 30 day waiting period for this legislation to become effective. Recommendation: Staff recommends to authorize the purchase of the property and to dispense with the 30 day waiting period for the legislation to become effective. DESCRIPTION OF A 0.950 ACRE TRACT LOCATED SOUTH OF WATERFORD DRIVE AND WEST OF DUBLIN ROAD IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, FRANKLIN COUNTY, OHIO Situate in the State of Ohio, County of Franklin, City of Dublin, and lying in Survey Number 2542 of the Virginia Military District, and being part of the 2.268 acre tract conveyed to Carl W.
