Form No. 30043 Ordinance No. 1 15-03 Passed . 2~ AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE WESTBURY PARK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Tuesday, October 14, 2003 for the Westbury Park Development Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted by The Nadalin Company in the amount of $182,000 i s the lowest and best bid for the project; and WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2003 CIP project; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid submitted by The Nadalin Company in the amount of $182,000.00 for the Westbury Park Development Project is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities. Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further reason that emergency action is needed to meet the timeframe specified within the bid. Brautigam, City Manager 5. ~ - DATE: October 14, 2003 INITIATED BY: Fred Hahn, Director of Grounds of Facilities RE: Westbury Park Development Project SUMMARY: On Tuesday, October 14, 2003 bids were opened for the Westbury Park Development Project. This project is an approved Capital Improvement Program. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $174,962. Five (5) bids were received. Base Bid 1) The Righter Company, Inc. $223,416.00 2) McDaniel's Construction Corp., Inc. $248,600.00 3) Greater Columbus Construction, Inc. $205,000.00 4) Mid-West Landscape Inc. $192,268.00 5) The Nadalin Company $182,000.00 This project consists of the necessary labor, materials and equipment for the installation of a bikepath, playground, gazebo, site amenities, and landscaping. There were two bid alternates listed on the proposal; one for an adult swing set and one for rubberized playground resurfacing. Staff is not recommending acceptance of either proposal. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance No. 115-0 3, accepting The Nadalin Company's base bid of $182,000,00.
