AN ORDINANCE TO CHANGE THE NAME OF A
PORTION OF FRANTZ ROAD (NORTH OF US 33/S.R.
161 TO POST ROAD) TO POST ROAD
IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO
WHEREAS, the City requests that the street name for the section of Frantz
Road north of US 33/S.R. 161 to Post Road be changed to Post Road; and
WHEREAS, the Division of Engineering and Division of Police have reviewed
this request and determined such action would not be detrimental to the public
health, welfare or safety.
NOW, THEREFO , BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the name of Frantz Road north of US 33/S.R. 161 to Post
Road is hereby changed to Post Road.
Section 2. That the City Engineer is hereby directed to have the plat
corrected to conform to these changes.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect on October 31, 2006..

Re: Ordinance 54-06 Requesting Approval to Change the Name of a portion of
Frantz Road (north of US 33/SR 161 to Post Road} to Post Road in the City
of Dublin, Ohio
Summary
The Division of Engineering staff, with support of the Division of Police, is proposing to
change the street name for a portion of Frantz Road to Post Road. The portion is between
US33/SR 161 and the first right in/right out access to the north. This segment of Frantz
Road becomes Post Road at the right in/right out access. This causes some confusion with
road name continuity.
There is one parcel adjacent to this section of roadway to the east. There are no buildings
on the parcel and the property has not been assigned an address.
Recommendation
Staff recommends the street name for the portion of Frantz Road north of US 33/SR 161 to
Post Road be changed to Post Road. Staff is presenting this ordinance as a first reading
for Council consideration and further recommends the ordinance proceed to a second
reading at the September 18, 2006 City Council meeting for adoption. Staff recommends
the street name change take effect October 31, 2006 to coincide with the Kilgour Place
street name change.
