AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE 2005 RIGHT-OF-WAY LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION
PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on February 9, 2005 for the 2005 Right-
of-Way Landscape Installation Project, Council has determined that the base bid
submitted by Miller Pavement in the amount oi° $124,096 is the lowest and best bid for
the project; and
WHEREAS, this project was an approved 2005 CIP project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the base bid submitted by Miller Pavement in the amount of $124,096
for the 2005 Right-of--Way Landscape Installation Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the
project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid
documents on file with the Director of Parks anal Open Space.
Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and therefore shall
be effective upon passage.

RE: 2005 Right-of-way Landscape Installation Project
SI;fNIlVIARY:
On Wednesday, February 9, 200~bids were opened for the 2005 Right-of-way Landscape
Installation Project. The budgeted amount for this project is $139,200.00, which is included in
the 2005 Operating Budget. The estimated cost for this project was $129,500.00.
Six (6) bids were received.
Base Bid
1). Peabody Landscape Construction $142,080.00
2). TruGreen Chemlawn $132,436.00
3). Environmental Management Services $149,875.00
4). Davey Tree Expert Company ~ $137,357.29
5). Star Landscape Management $128,025.00
6). Miller Pavement $124,096.00
This project consists of the installation of herbaceous and woody plants in select right-of--way
landscape beds throughout the City of Dublin.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance no. 15-05, accepting Miller Pavement's base bid
in the amount of $124,096.00. Miller Pavement has done previous work for the City of Dublin
and staff has found their work to be satisfactory.
