AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 (MAYOR, VICE
MAYOR AND COUNCIL COMPENSATION) OF
ORDINANCE NO.98-96 (COMPENSATION PLAN)
WHEREAS, Section 4 (Mayor, Vice Mayor and Council Compensation) of the City's
Compensation Plan was last amended in December 1996; and
WHEREAS, over the past several years there has been an ever increasing volume of
Council work sessions, regional intergovernmental meetings, task force assignments
and Mayor's Court sessions; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that, upon the recommendation of the City
Manager that Section 4 (Mayor, Vice Mayor and Council Compensation) of
Ordinance 98-96 (Compensation Plan) should be amended; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the adoption of this amendment is
appropriate;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the city of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That Section 4 (Mayor, Vice Mayor and Council Compensation) of
Ordinance No. 98-96 be amended as follows:
A. The following annual rates of pay for the Mayor, Vice Mayor
and Council members shall become effective on the date this
legislation legally takes effect:
Council Member Vice Mayor Mayor
$11,250 $12,250 $15,750
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the earliest date
permitted by law.

Summary
Attached for your consideration please find Ordinance No. 78-04 amending Section 4 (Mayor,
Vice Mayor, and Council Compensation) of Ordinance No. 98-96 (Compensation Plan). These
amendments involve a proposed adjustment in compensation rates for Mayor, Vice Mayor, and
Council Members, as recommended by Staff.
The compensation rates for Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Council Member were last adjusted in
December 1996. Given the ever-increasing volume of Council workshop meetings, regional
intergovernmental meetings, task force assignments, and Mayor's Court sessions, Staff believes
that these proposed adjustments in compensation rates are justified.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Ordinance No.
2004.
