AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN REFORESTATION
PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 for
the City of Dublin Reforestation Project, Council has determined that the base bid
submitted by Environmental Management in the amount of $31,689 is the lowest and
best bid for the project; and
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2003 CIl' project,

RE: City of Dublin Reforestation Project
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, October 22, 2003 bids were opened for the Ciry of Dublin Reforestation
Project. The funds for this project have been appropriated.
The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $43,000.00. Four (4) bids were received.
Base Bid
1) Environmental Management $31,689.00
2) Davey Tree $35,670.00
3) Urban Environments $39,915.00
4) Deitering Landscaping $74,600.00
This project consists of the installation of numerous trees throughout the City of Dublin to
include various parks and greenspaces in M.L. "Red" Trabue Arboretum, Donegal Cliffs Park,
Balgriffen Park, Wyndham Greenspace and Violet Veil Greenspace.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance No. 123-03, accepting Environmental
Management's base bid of $31,689.00. Environmental Management has done previous work
for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be satisfactory.
