AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAME OF A PORTION
OF CARNOUSTIE COURT TO CARNOUSTIE CIRCLE
IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has received a request to have the street name
changed for the section of street abutting lots 423 - 425 and 559 on Carnoustie Court;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that an appropriate name for the street would be
Carnoustie Circle; and
WHEREAS, the Dublin Division Engineering and Division of Police have reviewed
this request and determined that the street name change would not be detrimental to
the public health or welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the name of Carnoustie Court for lots 423 - 425 and 559 be
changed to Carnoustie Circle in the City of Dublin.
Section 2. That the City Engineer is be, and hereby is, directed to have the plat
corrected to conform to this change.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the
earliest date permitted allowed by law.

Re: Ordinance 42-04 Requesting Approval to Change the Name of a portion of
Carnoustie Court to Carnoustie Circle in the City of Dublin, Ohio
Summary
The Division of Engineering has received a request to change a portion of Carnoustie Court to
Carnoustie Circle from the Muirfield Village Homeowners Association (Homeowners Association).
According to the original plat for Muirfield Village Phases 8 and 12, the addresses assigned by the
City of Dublin for lots 423 - 425 and 559, respectfully, were addressed Carnoustie Court. The owners
of these lots and the Homeowners Association have always shown these lots as Carnoustie Circle, see
attached map. The Homeowners Association has also installed street name signs that state
"Carnoustie Circle." The City of Dublin Division of Police has also requested that the Division of
Engineering correct this situation. In discussions with the Homeowners Association, their preference
would be to officially change the name of this portion of Carnoustie Court to Carnoustie Circle, while
keeping the address numbers. The Division of Police is agreeable to this resolution to the situation.
Recommendation
Staff recommends that the street name for Lots 423 - 425 and 559 on Carnoustie Court be changed to
Carnoustie Circle. Address numbers will stay as they are currently. Staff recommends the approval
and adoption of the attached ordinance. Staff will notify the appropriate homeowners and
governmental agencies of the change, if approved.
