AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE KILLILEA PARK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on December 14, 2004 for the Killilea Park Development Project, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by Mid-West Landscape, Inc. in the amount of $179,300.00 is the lowest and best bid for the project; and WHEREAS, this project was an approved 2004 CIP project; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide funding authorization for the project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the base bid submitted by Mid-West Landscape, Inc. in the amount of $179,300 for the Killilea Park Development Project is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file with the Director of Parks and Open Space. Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $188,000 to account number 401-0314-780-2511 for the Killilea Park Development Project. Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Dublin City Charter. Passed this ,~~~, day of h. , 2005. The budgeted amount for this project is $175,000.00, which is included in the 2004 Capital Improvement Program The estimated. cost for this project was $171,579.00. Five (5) bids were received Base Bid 1). Mid-West Landscape Inc. $179,300.00 2). Thomas & Marker Construction Co. $219,800.00 3). Deitering Landscaping, Inc. $219,900.00 4). Spectrum Builders, Inc. $184,999.00 5). Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc. $184,992.00 This project consists of the labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of a bike path, gazebo, playground and associated safety surfacing, site amenities and landscaping. RECOMMENDATION: Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance no. 01-05, accepting Mid-West Landscape's base bid in the amount of $179,300.00. Mid-West Landscape Inc. has done previous work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be satisfactory.
