AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID FOR THE LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION RIGHT-OF-
WAY PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on February 10, 2004 for the
Landscape Installation Right-of--Way Project, Council has determined that the bid
submitted by Miller's Pavement in the amount of $118,239.00 is the lowest and
best bid for the project; and
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2004 CIP project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~._. of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Miller's Pavement in the amount of
$118,239.00 for the Landscape Installation Right-of--Way Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's
bid documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and therefore
shall be effective upon passage.

On Tuesday, February 10, 2004 bids were opened for the Landscape Maintenance ROW
Project for 2004. The budgeted amount for this project is $138,832.00, which is included in
the 2004 Operating Budget. The estimated cost for this project was $128,000.00.
Seven (7) bids were received.
Base Bid
1). Peabody Landscape Construction $130,608.00
2). GreenScapes Landscape Co. $122,739.00
3). Davey Commercial Grounds Maintenance $118,861.20
4). Eco Systems Management $159,637.95
5). Miller Pavement $118,239.00
6). Deitering Landscaping Inc. $135,020.00
7). Meticulous Landscaping $125,840.00
This project consists of the installation of herbaceous and woody plants in select right-of--way
landscape beds throughout the City of Dublin.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance no. 10-04, accepting Miller Pavement's base bid
in the amount of $118,239.00. Miller Pavement has done previous work for the City of Dublin
and staff has found their work to be satisfactory.
