AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXERCISE THE OPTION AND TO PURCHASE AN
APPROXIMATELY 157+/- ACRE TRACT OF LAND WEST OF
COSGRAY PARK IN ORDER TO EXPAND COSGRAY PARK
FOR RECREATIONAL USE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF DUBLIN
APPROPRIATING THE FUNDS NECESSARY TO
COMPLETE SAID PURCHASE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin desires to expand Cosgray Park and provide parkland and
recreational facilities for the residents of the City of Dublin; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has entered into an option to purchase 157+/- acres of
land for the purpose of expanding Cosgray Park, and said option is about to expire.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide
authorized funding for the purchase.
NOW, TIIEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINID, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, _r of the members concumng that:
Section 1. Council hereby authorizes the City Manager to exercise Dublin's option and
to purchase 157+/- acres of land for the purpose of expanding Cosgray Park.
Section 2. There be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the General Fund
the amount of $4,000,000 to account 01-01-19-2510 for the purpose of purchasing this 157
+/- acre tract and paying related acquisitions costs.
Section 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further
reason that the purchase of this land is necessary in order to initiate the annexation and
rezoning processes for this land to comply with the construction timeframes for the
stadium project. This ordinance shall therefore take effect and be in force immediately
upon passage, as provided by Section 4.04. (6) of the Revised Charter.
