WHEREAS, City Council has directed the Administration to have the design and
construction plans for the next phase of the Community Recreation Center ready to
be bid by July 31, 1998; and

An Ordinance Amending The Annual Appropriations Ordinance For The
Fiscal Year Ending December 31,1997
WHEREAS, Section 5705.40 of the Ohio Revised Code allows for supplemental
appropriations to be made to an appropriations measure provided sufficient resources
are available; and
WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code requires, when necessary, amendments to the
annual appropriations be made in order that appropriations are not over expended;
and
WHEREAS, a working group to coordinate and accomplish this objective was
established; and
WHEREAS, after public notice, architectural qualifications for this project have
been received and interviews completed; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations ordinance to
authorize funding to enter into a professional services agreement for design of the
next phase of the Community Recreation Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital
Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $400,000 to account 40-03-14-2710 for the
purpose of transferring funds to the Community Recreation Center Construction
Fund.
Section 2. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the
Community Recreation Center Construction Fund the amount of $400,000 to account
43-03-14-2349 for design fees related to the next phase of the Community Recreation
Center.
Section 3. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force in accordance with
Section 4 (a) of the Dublin City Charter.

As directed by City Council, the Administration has been working toward the objective of
having the next phase of the Community Recreation Center designed and construction plans
ready to be bid by July 31, 1998. A Status Report was distributed in the last City Council
packet.
This legislation appropriates funds for design of the next phase of the Community Recreation
""'" Center. It is anticipated that a professional services agreement will be entered into by November
30, 1997. The $400,000 requested is based on preliminary estimates and is consistent with the
estimate included in the 1998-2002 Capital Improvements Program. The funding is also
reflected in the Proposed 1998 Operating Budget; however, the final document will be adjusted
to take into account the funding authorization in 1997 instead of 1998.
