Form No. 30043 Ordinance No._____ 115-97 ______ Passed_______- _ _19_______ AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE COFFMAN PARK TENNIS COURT RESURFACING, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Coffman Park Tennis Court repaving project on August 4, 1997, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Roese Brothers Paving, Inc. in the amount of $17,389.00 is the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, this project is part of the Coffman Park Tennis Court improvements contained in the 1997 CIP budget. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid submitted by Roese Brothers in the amount of $17,389.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Roese Brothers for completion of the repaving project, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Parks Maintenance division. Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Dublin and therefore shall take effect upon passage. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $20,500.00. Three bids were received. 1). Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc. $23,000.00 2). Roese Brothers Paving, Inc. $17,389.00 3). Strawser Paving Co., Inc. $21,832.00 The project consists of asphalt overlay, replacement of tennis net post holders, and two-color recoating. Roese Brothers Paving, Inc. was the contractor on the Coffinan Park Tennis/Basketball Resurfacing project in 1994, and their work proved to be most acceptable. Staff is recommending acceptance of Roese Brothers, Inc.'s base bid of $17,389.00. ~"""'
