AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BE5T BID FOR SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCKS AND
RELATED EQUIPMENT, AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR
PROCUREMENT OF SAID EQUIPMENT.
WHEREAS, after conducting formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures for
single axle dump trucks and related equipment; and,
WHEREAS, Council has determined the bid submitted by Center City International for said
equipment, to include related equipment provided by Buckeye Truck Body, constitutes the
lowest and best bid, in the total amount of $109,332.00; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, ~ of the elected members concumng:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Center City International for the above referenced
equipment, in the amount of $109,332.00, is hereby accepted.
i n 2 That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Center
City International for the procurement of said equipment as specified above and within said
bidder's bid proposal on file in the Division of Human Resources/Procurement.
i n 3 That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force on the earliest date permitted
by law.

Re: Single Axle Dump Trucks and Related Equipment Bid (Ordinance No. 93-97)
Attached for your consideration please find Ordinance No. 93-97 accepting the lowest and best bid
for single axle dump trucks and related equipment for the Department of Service. Also, attached
for your reference is a copy of the bid tabulation.
This bid project involves the purchase of single axle dump trucks and related equipment for the
Citywide snow removal program and other Service Department related activities. Before seeking
formal bids for this project, the Department of Service compared and tested single axle dump trucks
and related equipment from many manufacturers and developed detailed specifications based on
functionality. The City invited competition from many different manufacturers but received a bid
proposal from only one vendor:
* Center City International
Given the two options provided by Center City International, Staff believes the option that includes
provision of the dump bodies from Buckeye Truck Equipment ($109,332.00) should be accepted.
Council recently passed Ordinance 83-96 accepting a previous Center City International bid for
single axle dump trucks of the same make and model type as proposed for this bid. During that bid
process, the City received three (3) proposals for equipment from three different manufacturers.
Staff and Council decided that the Center City International proposal was the lowest and best bid.
Staff feels, due'to the recentness of our decision, this may have discouraged competition from other
vendors for this bid process. However, after comparing the proposal for this bid to all proposals
from the earlier bid, Staffis consistent in its belief that the bid submitted by Center City International
with the dump bodies from Buckeye Truck Equipment is the lowest and best bid.
