AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ACCEPTING A BID
FOR
FRANTZ ROADBRADENTON AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNAL
AND
ST. BRIGID SCHOOL ZONE FLASHER
WHEREAS, bids have been received for Frantz Road/BradentonAvenue Traffic Signal and
St. Brigid School Zone Flasher; and
WHEREAS, the lowest/best bid is from Jess Howard Electric Company, in the amount of
$151,000.00; and
WHEREAS, installation of traffic signals and school flashers is essential for safe movement
of pedestrians and motorists; and ~
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin has completed design and has budgeted $120,000.00 for
construction of these improvements; and
NOWT EREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid of $151,000.00 from Jess Howard Electric Company
!^, be, and hereby is, accepted.
ection 2. That the City Manager and Finance Director, be, and hereby
~° are, authorized to enter into a contract with said firm for the Frantz Road/Bradentan Avenue
Traffic Signal and St. Brigid School Zone Flasher.

Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $ ,
installation of school flashers and traffic signals.
Section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency
measure in order to allow for safe and efficient movement of traffic and pedestrians, and for
the further reason that this project should be initiated as soon as possible, and, therefore, this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.

SUBJECT: Frantz Road/Bradenton Avenue Traffic Signal and
St. Brigid School Zone Flasher -Ordinance No. 87-97
DATE: June 2, 1997
On May 29, 1997 two (2) bids were received and publicly opened and read for the subject project.
The bids were received as shown on the attached bid form. It is recommended that Jess Howard
Electric Company, the lowest/best bidder, be awarded this project.
Traffic signal installation at Frantz Road and Bradenton Avenue was approved by City Council in
connection with the Llewellyn Farms Traffic Study and is part of the city-wide traffic study. Also,
school flasher installation on Avery Road at St. Brigid School was recently approved by City
Council.
Attached is an emergency Ordinance No. 00-97 for approval by City Council for contract award to
Jess Howard Electric Company.
