Form No. 30043 161-97 Ordinance No._______.________________ Passed_ _________19________ AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDS FOR 1998 JANITORIAL SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACTS FOR THESE SERVICES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for 1998 janitorial services for the City of Dublin on Monday, November 24, 1997, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by: Circle Building Services, Inc. in the amount of $4,585.40 per month for janitorial services for the Community Recreation Center; by Master Maintenance in the amount of $2,050.06 per month for janitorial services for the Justice Center; by Master Maintenance in the amount of $2,987.81 per month for janitorial services for the 5800 Building, the Service Complex, and the Municipal Building; and the bid alternate submitted by Master Maintenance in the amount of $850.00 per month for day porter service for the 5800 Building, the Service Complex and the Municipal Building are the lowest and best bids respectively. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid for the Community Recreation Center janitorial services submitted by Circle Building Services, Inc. in the amount of $4,585.40 per month is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the bid for the Justice Center janitorial services submitted by Master Maintenance in the amount of $2,050.06 per month is hereby accepted. Section 3. That the bid for the 5800 Building, Service Complex and Municipal Building submitted by Master Maintenance in the amount of $2, 897.81 per month is hereby accepted. Section 4. That the bid alternate for day porter service for the 5800 Building, Service Complex, and Municipal Building submitted by Master Maintenance in the amount of $850.00 per month is hereby accepted. Section 5. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with the above-referenced contractors for janitorial services, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Parks Maintenance division. Section 6. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further reason that the new contracts must be in place prior to January 1, 1998. Therefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon passage. This year we required three separate bids: one for the Community Recreation Center, one for the Justice Center and the third for the 5800 Building, Service Complex and the Municipal Building. Memo I have attached the bid tabulation sheets that reflect the outcome of the bids. Based on these outcomes, staff is recommending the following bids be accepted. Facili Community Recreation Center Recommended Contractor Circle Building Services, Inc Price $4,585.40/month Justice Center 5800 Building Service Complex Municipal Building Master Maintenance Master Maintenance $2,050.06/month $2, 897.81 /month ,~ ,, 1998 Janitorial Contract Page 2 In addition to the base bids, it is also staffs recommendation to accept the following bid alternate that reflects day porter service. The prices are also in line with the figures represented in the 1998 Operating Budget. Staff is recommending that the bids as reflected in this report be accepted.
