Form No. 30043 Passed- -- -- --- ------ --- --- --- ---19 -- --- 157-97 Ordinance No__________________- AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE COFFMAN PARK PLAYGROUND/LANDSCAPE PROJECT, APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Coffman Park Playground/Landscape Project on Wednesday, November 26, 1997, Council has determined that the base bid and alternates 4, 6 and 7 submitted by Decker Construction Company in the amount of $188,804.00, $24,300.00, $23,900.00 and $9,500.00 respectively, for a total of $246,504.00 is the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, the Coffman Park/playground/landscape project is an approved 1997 CIP project; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide adequate funding for the base bid and the recommended bid alternates. NOW, TH BEFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: Section 1• That the base bid and bid alternates 4, 6 and 7 for the Coffman Park Playground/Landscape Project submitted by Decker Construction Company in the amount of $188,804.00, $24,300.00, $23,900.00 and $9,500.00 respectively, for a total ~,,,.,, of $246,504.00 are hereby accepted. 4 ,ion 2• That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with r.. Decker Construction Company for completion of the project, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Parks Maintenance division. ion 3• That there be appropriated from the unappropriated funds in the Capital Improvement Tax Fund the amount of $57,700.00 to account 40-03-14-2550 for the bid alternates related to the Coffman Park Playground/Landscape project. ion 4• That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further reason that the timeframes for completion of the project require emergency action. This is part of Phase I of the Coffman Park Redevelopment Master Plan. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $200,000.00. One bid was received. 1). Decker Construction Company $188,804.00 The project consists of landscape buffer along property line, grading and drainage for ADA compliant playground area, bikepath and walkways. The three recommended bid alternates consist of various playground apparatuses. Staffis recommending the acceptance of Decker Construction Company's base bid of $188,804.00, along with bid alternates: 4). $24,300.00. 6). 23,900.00 7). 9,500.00.
