AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID FOR THE DARREE FIELDS LIGHTING PROJECT, AND
DELCARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Wednesday, January 30, 2002 for
the Darree Fields Lighting Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted by
Strong Electric in the amount of $121,630.00 (base bid) is the lowest and best bid for
the project; and
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2002 CIP project;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide
funding authorization for the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring;
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Strong Electric in the amount of $121,630.00
(base bid) for the Darree Fields Lighting Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the
project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid
documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Capital
Improvements Tax Fund the amount of $127,700 to account number 401-0314-780-
2511 for the lighting project.

Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
necessary to ensure the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare,
and therefore shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.

On Wednesday, January 30"', 2002 bids were opened for the Darree Fields Lighting Project.
The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $167,000.00. Five (5) bids were received.
