Harding, Director of Human Resources/Procurement Memo Attached for your consideration, please find Ordinance No.70 -00 accepting the lowest and best Bid for recreation apparel. Also, attached for your reference is a copy of the bid tabulation. Bids were requested based upon an estimated quantity of 5000 items, which is consistent with the estimated quantity in 1999. These items include the following, which will be provided to seasonal recreation staff and spring/summer program participants: • Silk screen t-shirts • Embroidered jerseys • Golf shirts • Sweatshirts • Jackets • Baseball caps • Turtlenecks As reflected in the attached bid tabulation, the City received bids from the following suppliers: • Jaw Enterprises • US Apparel, Inc. • DH Sportswear As noted on the attached bid tabulation, Jaw Enterprises submitted the lowest bid, in the amount of $29,297.00, however said bid was submitted after the published deadline and therefore cannot be accepted. The bid submitted by US Apparel, Inc., in the amount of $36,974.50, in staff's judgement, is the lowest and best bid. Staff, therefore, recommends that said bid be accepted. Please note that Ordinance No. 70-00 has been drafted as emergency legislation. Staff is requesting that this legislation be adopted as an emergency for the reason that the Dublin public pool will be open Memorial Day weekend and the various recreational summer programs will begin in early June. All miscellaneous recreational apparel items will be needed as soon as possible.
