AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR FLOOR
AND UPHOLSTERY MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR 2000, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Tuesday, February 29, 2000 for the City
of Dublin Floor and Upholstery Maintenance Services. for 2000, Council has determined that
the base bid and bid alternate #1 submitted by Mid-West Building Services, Inc. in the
amount of $30,000.00 and $3,000.00 respectively is the lowest and best bid for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the base bid and bid alternate #1 submitted by Mid-West Building Services,
Inc. in the amount of $30,000.00 and $3,000.00 respectively for Floor and Upholstery
Maintenance Services for 2000 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project
as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file
in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further
reason that it is desirable to proceed with these maintenance items at this time. This
ordinance shall therefore be effective upon passage.

On Tuesday, February 29, 2000, bids were opened on the Floor & Upholstery Maintenance Services, an
approved 2000 expenditure. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $35,000.00. One (1)
complete bid was received.

The project consists of upholstery maintenance at the following City owned buildings: Justice Center,
Municipal Building~Annex, Department of Development/Parks, Service Complex, and Community Relations
Center.
Staff is recommending acceptance of Mid-West Building Services, Inc. base bid of $30,000.00, along with
bid alternate #1 of $3,000.00 which consist of window cleaning.
