Hansley, City Manager wK.. Date: February 2, 2000 Subject: Ordinance No. 22-00, An Ordinance Amending The Annual Appropriations Initiated by: Marsha I. Grigsby, Director of Finance ~{~C~- Ordinance No. 22-00 requests additional funding authorization for the following purposes: ¦ Section 1. Ordinance No. 95-96 passed on October 5, 1998 amended the Planning and Zoning Code to provide for tree preservation. The Ordinance established a tree replacement fee based on the caliper inches of trees removed as a result of development. This fee is paid into the City's General Fund and can only be used to plant trees on publicly owned property. In 1999, the tree replacement fees credited to the General Fund totaled $18,650. The account being amended by this Ordinance will be used only for expenditures related to the tree replacement fee. ¦ Section 2. In November 1999, a transformer malfunctioned causing damage to equipment in the expansion area of the Community Recreation Center. The City will be reimbursed from our builder's risk insurance policy. This appropriation request provides the funding authorization to begin the repairs. ¦ Section 3 and 4. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has scheduled to award the construction project for the S.R. 161 improvements project in March. We have recently received notice from ODOT requesting additional payment for the City's share of the project based on revised R-O-W acquisition costs and final construction estimates. This appropriation and the amount appropriated in Ordinance 07-00 will provide the necessary funding for the City's share of the project. Resolution 16-00, which will also be introduced on Monday evening, authorizes the City Manager to execute final project documents between the City and ODOT. ¦ Section 5. This request provides the necessary funding to complete the preliminary engineering cost estimates to extend sanitary sewer in the Summitview Road/Sawmill Road area as directed by City Council. Please contact Marsha if you have any questions or need any additional information. T:\2000\014-ORD-22-00 memo.doc rs..+
