YE.1R An Ordinance Authorizing the Purchase of a 2.63Acre Parcel Located at 6375 Woerner-Temple Road for the Purpose of Acquiring Additional Parkland and Declaring an Emergency WHEREAS, a goal of City Council is to continue to acquire parkland for recreation and open space purposes; and WHEREAS, the Community Plan identified the need and a general vicinity for a community scale park in the southwest area; and WHEREAS, the City executed a Development Agreement with the Edwards Golf Communities LLC agreeing to acquire parkland from willing sellers located adjacent to the Dublin Golf Course Community; and WHEREAS, 6375 WoernerTemple Road was available from a willing seller; and WHEREAS, funds have been appropriated in the 2001 Operating Budget for the purpose of assembling parkland in the southwest area of the City. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring that: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Real Estate Purchase Agreement and any necessary closing documents related to the acquisition of 6375 Woerner-Temple Road. Section 2. This Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure for the preservation of public peace, health, safety or welfare and for the further reason to complete the real estate transaction as agreed to by the City; therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. Grigsby, Director of Finance ~~`~ As stated in the Ordinance, the Development Agreement executed between the City and the Edwards Golf Communities LLC obligated the City to acquire approximately 46.9 acres of land located adjacent to the Dublin Golf Course Community (the Property). Appraisals were obtained on the land located adjacent to the Property prior to executing the Development Agreement. As stated the Development Agreement, the City has met only with property owners that are interested in selling their property. Based on the appraisal obtained, the City has reached agreement on the purchase price with the property owner located at 6375 Woerner- Temple Road. This property is identified as Parcel F on the attached map. The City previously acquired Parcel A. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Marsha.
