AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE
NORTH FORK INDIAN RUN BIKEPATH BRIDGES PROJECT, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on December 19, 2000 for the North Fork
Indian Run Bikepath Bridges Project, an approved 2000 expenditure, Council has determined
that the base bid submitted by Fort Defiance Construction & Supply, Inc. in the amount of
$174,970.00 is the lowest and best bid for the project.
NOW, T FORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the base bid submitted by Fort Defiance Construction & Supply, Inc. in the
amount of $174,970.00 for the North Fork Indian Run Bikepath Bridges Project is hereby
accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the project
as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file
in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health, safety or welfare. This ordinance shall therefore be effective upon passage.

Re: North Fork Indian Run Bike Path Bridges

On Tuesday, December 19, 2000 bids were opened on the North Fork Indian Run Bike Path Bridges Project,
an approved CIP expenditure.

2). The Righter Co., Inc. $183,300.00
3). McDaniels Construction Corp. $191,566.00
4). Shaw & Holter, Inc. $177,000.00
5). Danbert, Inc. $228,436.00
6). Ft. Defiance Construction & Supply Inc. $174,970.00
This project consists of two bike path bridges and associated asphalt bike path connections. This project
will result in linking Wyndham Section 5 to Avery Park and Avery Road Bike path and completing a
missing section of bike path along Brand Road in the Shannon Glen subdivision.
Staff is recommending acceptance of the bid submitted by Ft. Defiance Construction & Supply Inc., in the
amount of $174,970.00. Ft. Defiance has previously performed work for The City of Dublin and their work
has been found to be complete and satisfactory.
