A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE 2015 CRACK SEAL PROGRAM
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of
the Dublin Code, for the 2015 Street Maintenance Program; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by American
Pavements, Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid.
NO THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by American Pavements, Inc. in the total
amount of $264, 800.00 is hereby accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts
with American Pavements, Inc. for performance and completion of the 2015
Crack Seal Program, pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract
Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect upon passage in accordance
with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution No. 26 -15 - 2015 Crack Seal Program - Bid Acceptance
Summary
On February, 24, 2015, five (5) bids were received, publicly opened and read for the 2015 Crack Seal
Program. This program will perform preventative pavement maintenance by preparing and sealing
pavement cracks with a hot applied crack sealant. The program will involve crack sealing approximately
1,000,000 square yards of existing roadway surface.
The Engineer's estimate is $430,000.00. The budgeted funds for this project are from the 2015 Capital
Improvements Program for Annual Street Maintenance. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the
bids is listed below.

For Council's reference and review, a reduced set of project drawings and street listing have been placed
in the Council Planning Room.
Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid from American Pavements, Inc. This is the first year for this
program. American Pavements, Inc. has performed work as subcontractor on previous Dublin Street
Maintenance Programs. Based on the company's positive reputation and their work as a subcontractor,
staff believes that they will perform this program to the City's satisfaction.
Staff anticipates the construction to commence in mid -April 2015. The scheduled completion date for
the project is June 30, 2015.
Recommendation
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution 26 -15, accepting as lowest and best the bid of
American Pavements, Inc. in the amount of $264,800.00 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into
a contract with American Pavements, Inc. for this project.
