Re: Resolution 27 -15 - Darree Fields Northwest Parking Lot Project
Summary
Memo
On Wednesday, February 25, 2015, bids were opened for the Darree Fields Northwest Parking Lot
Project. Eight (8) bids were received:
The budget for this project is included in the 2015 CIP as a part of the $660,000 allocated for
Darree Fields improvements. The base bid estimate for this project was $339,000.00. This project
will be completed by the beginning of summer 2015.
The project consists of all the materials and labor necessary to construct a 119 -car parking lot
expansion, re -grade approximately one and one half soccer fields, and all associated storm
water related improvements. Complete construction details are available for review in the
Council Planning room.
The need for the soccer field re- grading is due to the existing grades, which makes it difficult
for players to see the full length of the field because of the height of the crown. The parking
lot expansion is needed due to the number of times each year that parking in designated areas
becomes problematic. This project was originally funded in 2011, but due to conflicts with
programmed events, it was deferred to this year.
All sports organizations impacted by these improvements were notified in 2014 to allow for
accommodations to be made in their scheduling.
Janco LLC has completed multiple projects for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to
be most satisfactory.
Recommendation
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 27 -15, accepting Janco LLC's base bid of $227,680.00
and authorizing the execution of contracts for the project.
