AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A 17.00
ACRE, MORE OR LESS, TRACT OF LAND, FROM DOROTHY
THOMAS AND NATIONAL CITY BANK, COLUMBUS,
TRUSTEE OF THE WILLIAM MARVIN THOMAS TRUST,
LOCATED SOUTH OF SHIER-RINGS ROAD, CITY OF DUBLIN,
COUNTY OF FRANKLIN, STATE OF OHIO, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the City desires to enter into an agreement to purchase a 17.00 acre,
more or less, tract of land for the expansion of the City's maintenance facility for
$680,560.00 and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned objectives will require the City of Dublin to obtain a
fee simple interest in the 17.00 acre, more or less, premises more fully described in the
attached Exhibit "A", located in the City of Dublin, Franklin County, Ohio.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council, of the City of Dublin,
state of Ohio, of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement to
Purchase and any necessary closing documents related to the acquisition of the 17.00
acre, more or less, tract of land and paying any related costs.
Section 2. There has been appropriated from Capital Improvements Tax Fund Six
Hundred Eighty Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Dollars and no/100 Cents
($680,560.00) to account 401-0314-780-2523 for the purchase of acquiring the 17.00
acre, more or less, tract of land and paying any related acquisition costs.
Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency. The reason for
such necessity is that the immediate acquisition of this property is necessary for an
efficient use of public funds. Therefore, this Ordinance shall go into immediate effect.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION
17.014 Acres
A tract of land located in Washington Township of Franklin County, Ohio, in the Virginia
Military Survey number 3453 and being part of a 107.338 acre tract conveyed to Dortha
Mae Bowman in Official Record 00861, H12 in the Franklin County records and more
particularly described by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning for reference at a Franklin County monument box (EGGS #7752) at the

intersection of the centerlines of Eiterman Road (County Road 41) and Shier-Rings Road
(County Road 42);
Thence North 81 degrees 34 minutes 43 seconds East along the centerline of Shire-Rings
Road 1773.91 feet (passing a spike at 949.52 feet) to a railroad spike for the TRUE
POINT OF BEGINNING of the tract of land herein and hereby conveyed;
Thence continue North 81 degrees 34 minutes 43 seconds East along the centerline of
Shier-Rings Road 661.00 feet to an existing railroad spike set at the northwest corner of a
34.295 acre tract land owned by The Board of Education, Dublin Local School District
and the City of Dublin, Ohio (OR 11693, A05);
Thence leaving said centerline South 07 degrees 07 minutes 26 seconds East along the 6 - ' U~
west line of the City of Dublin property; 1121.49 feet on the approximate line between ~ I ~ L`_
V.M.S. 3453 and V.M.S. 3004 (passing a concrete post at 25.01 feet) to a concrete post
