RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank Inc Form No. 30045 10 -15 Resolution No. Passed . 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE DUBLIN ARTS CENTER PARKING IMPROVEMENTS (RETAING WALL) AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PROJECT. WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Dublin Arts q Center Parking Improvements (Retaining Wall); and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of $164,600.00 submitted by Jess Construction is the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, Dublin Arts Center Parking Improvements (Retaining Wall) were programmed in the approved 2015 Capital Improvement Program (CIP); and WHEREAS, funding is available in the Capital Projects Funds. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, �, R of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1 . The base bid submitted by Jess Construction in the amount of $164,600.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space. Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter. Grigsby, City Manager\A> Date: January 22, 2015 Initiated By: Fred Hahn, Director of Parks and Open Space Memo Re: Resolution 10 -15 - Dublin Arts Center Parking Improvements (Retaining Wall) Summary On Monday, January 12, 2015, bids were opened for the Dublin Arts Center Parking Improvements (Retaining Wall) project. The project consists of all the materials and labor necessary to demolish and reconstruct the failing limestone retaining wall. In addition, the project includes improvements to the handicapped parking area, storm water drain installation, and landscape preservation. Five (5) bids were received: Bidder Base Bid Jess Construction $164,600.00 Facemyer Landscaping LLC $174,200.00 Columbus Asphalt Paving $218,400.00 McDaniel's Construction Corp., Inc. $258,000.00 OPC Contracting $275,435.00 The City's base bid estimate for this project was $200,949.00. The 2015 CIP provides funding for $250,000 for the retaining wall improvements. Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid from Jess Construction and has determined it to be the lowest and best. Jess Construction has completed multiple projects for the City and staff has found their work to be most satisfactory. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning room. This project is anticipated to be completed by spring 2015. The Dublin Arts Council is aware of these improvements and the associated tentative construction schedule.
