Form No. 30043 106-98 Ordinance No.____ Passed --- --- -- --- --- ------- ----- -19-- - AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/ BEST BID FOR THE 1998 LANDSCAPING PROJECTS COFFMAN ROAD FOR THE CITY OF DUBLIN, APPROPRIATING FUNDS, AND DECLARING AND EMERGENCY WHEREAS, after advertising, receiving and opening bids on August 28, 1998 for the Coffinan Road/Emerald Parkway Landscape project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the lowest and best bid for said project is from Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, in the amount of $206,364.00; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to execute this contract as soon as possible so that construction can take place during favorable weather conditions. WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the annual appropriations measure to provide funding for this project. NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid from Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc. in the amount of $206,364.00 be, and hereby is, accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc., for completion of said project pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the General Fund the amount of $110,000 to account 01-02-15-2722 for the purpose of transfemng funds to the Public Works Commission Fund to complete the landscaping for the Coffinan Road widening project. Section 4. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the Public Works Commission Fund the amount of $110,000 to account 53-03-14-2510 for landscaping. Section 5. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health or welfare of the residents of this City, and, therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. Kindra, Director of Engineering/City Engineer ~% DATE: August 28, 1998 SUBJECT: Ordinance No. 106-98 1998 Landscaping Project for Coffinan Road/Emerald Parkway between (Brand Road and Commerce Parkway Today, August 28, 1998, bids were received and publicly opened and read for landscaping for Coffinan Road/Emerald Parkway, between Brand Road and Commerce Parkway. Five (5) bids were received as shown on the attached bid form. The bids have been reviewed and it is recommended that we award this contract to Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, the lowest, responsible bidder. The bids ranged from $258,000 to $206,364.00. Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc.'s bid was $206,364.00. An additional appropriation is needed for the portion of the project located between Brand Road and Post Road. No additional appropriation is necessary for the Emerald Parkway extension portion of the project. Attached is an emergency Ordinance No. 106-98 for approval by City Council prior to awarding this contract to Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc. Also attached, please find a copy of a color rendering showing the scope of the work. I recommend approval of this contract to Greenscapes Landscape Company, Inc. of Columbus, Ohio.
