AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE
EMERALD PARKWAY MEDIAN MAINTENANCE
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on March 18, 1999 for the Emerald
I Parkway Median Maintenance, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by
~w.r+ Greenscapes Landscape Co. in the amount of $19,393.00 is the lowest and best bid for this
maintenance project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the base bid submitted by Greenscapes Landscape Co. in the amount of
$19,393.00 for the Emerald Parkway Median Maintenance project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with
Greenscapes Landscape Co. for this maintenance project as specified within the bidder's
bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in effect at the earliest date permitted by law.

On Thursday March 18, 1999 bids were opened for the Emerald Parkway Median Maintenance, an approved
1999 expenditure.
Three bids were received for the publicly announced maintenance project.
Base Bid Bid Alternate 1
1). Greenscapes Landscape Co. $19,393.00 $24,000.00
2). Riepenhoff Landscape, Inc. $24,231.00 $24,669.00
3). Buck & Sons Landscape Service, Inc. $22,311.98 $17,540.00
The maintenance consists of mowing of turf, maintaining landscape beds, and mulching of trees and
landscape beds along Emerald Parkway Phase I & II (Coffman Road to Dublin Road). The one bid alternate
consists of tree watering.
Staff is recommending acceptance of Greenscapes Landscape Company's base bid of $19,393.00. Staff is
recommending to decline the bid alternate based on bid costs exceeding staffs cost benefit analysis. The
City of Dublin has worked with Greenscapes Landscape Co. in the past and has found their work to be
satisfactory.
