AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR AN AERIAL LIFT/BUCKET/UTILITY TRUCK BED AND
OTHER RELATED EQUIPMENT

'-- WHEREAS, Council has appropriated sufficient funds in its 1999 Capital Improvements
Budget to purchase one aeriallift/bucket/utility truck bed and related equipment; and
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures for a new aerial
lift/bucket/utility truck bed and other associated equipment have been conducted; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined the bid submitted by Buckeye Truck Equipment for
said equipment constitutes the lowest and best bid, in the total amount of $34,250.00;
NOW, TrtREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Buckeye Truck Equipment for the above referenced
equipment, in the amount of $34,250.00, is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Buckeye
Truck Equipment for the procurement of said equipment as specified above and within said
bidder' s bid proposal on file in the Division of Human Resources and Procurement.
r-' Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest date

Re: Aerial Lift/Bucket/Utility Truck Bed and Related Equipment Bid
Attached for your consideration please find Ordinance 98-99 accepting the lowest and
best bid for a new aerial lift truck bed and related equipment for the City of Dublin
Division of Streets and Utilities. Also, attached for your review, is a copy of the bid
tabulation.
Approval of this bid will allow the City of Dublin to purchase new equipment for
overhead sign installation and replacement, overhead banner placement, and facility
maintenance in the service complex garage. All equipment will be installed by the
bidder.
Prior to seeking formal bids for this project, the Division of Streets and Utilities
developed detailed specifications based on functionality and compatibility of an aerial lift
truck bed and related equipment with the existing city vehicle fleet. The City of Dublin
mailed bid specifications to five companies. As reflected in the attached bid tabulation,
the City received one bid proposal from the following vendor:

This company provided a complete bid at a cost of $34,250.00. Given the size and
'''... reputation of the company, staff is comfortable that this bid is adequate and reflects the
going market prices.
A ward conditions in the bid documents require that a single award be made on the basis
of the lowest and best composite bid submitted. In the final analysis, Staff believes that
the bid submitted by Buckeye Truck is the lowest and best overall composite bid received
and, therefore, recommends that said bid be accepted.
