MEMORANDUM
:[1 OF DrI1LI\
,.... TO: Dublin City Council Members
- FROM: Tim Hansley, City Manager
RE: Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court Resurfacing
DATE: May 23, 1994
lNITIA TED BY: Fred Hahn, Parks Administrator
On May 19t.lJ, 10:00 a.m.; bids were publicly opened on the Coffman Park
Tennis/Basketball Court Relighting project. Two bids were received. Chandler Electric Inc. was
submitted at $17,688.00 and Vaughn Industries was submitted at $18,885.00.
The estimated cost of the project was $19,250.00. Based on Chandler Electric being the
low bidder and their favorable experience record with the City of Dublin, staff is recommending
approval of their bid.
This project is part of the Coffman Park Tennis/Basketball Court improvements slated
for 1994. Council approved $60,000.00 for these improvements in the 1994 CIP budget. Later
t!" this year the City will go out to bid on resurfacing and color coating of the courts. The timing
of the resurfacing was based on program issues. The lighting was bid earlier because it will
decrease electrical demand, require less maintenance and provide better overall lighting
characteristics, without significantly impacting programming.
