Roll Call: Davis, present Eberly, present Eger, present Karrer, present Shriver, present Thomas, absent The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved. The following bills were presented for payment: W. Ralph Jones - December Mayor's Court Columbus & Southern Elec~ric Co. - current Shell Oil Co. - gas for cruiser Elbert Sidel, Building Inspector (t of 57.85) H. E. Rose - 136 hrs. police service Howard Lyons - 94 hrs. police service H. A. Bailey - 13 hrs. - street service He~Jones - 8 hrs. labor plus 50~ dumping charges Jack Frambes - 13 hrs. police service Jack Frambes - handcuffs purchased from C. C. Young Public Employees Retirement System - retirement deducted from police during December, 1957 Internal Revenue - income tax deducted from police, October through December, 1957 Columbus Law Library - amount certified by Auditor to be paid pursuant to Section 3375.50 of the Revised Code Motion was made by Eger, seconded by Karrer that bills be paid. Eberly moved the appointment of Russell Welch, seconded by Eger. However, it was not definite that Mr. Welch was interested in the position this year and Shriver was then asked to inquire as to Welch's acceptance of said position. Nominations were then made as to President of Council. Eger nominated Harold Shriver and Harold Shriver then nominated Bernard Karrer. -A nomination was made for Thomas but" since he was absent, that nomination was withdrawn. Eger moved nominations be closed, seconded by Eberly. Vote was then cast and Harold Sh~iver was nominated President of Council, by a two ~o three vote. Mr. Sowers, of Baldwin & Sours, Highway Equipment & Materials, was then called upon to give information regarding the radar speed meter. After much dis- cussion, Eger moved council buy the speed meter, seconded by Davis. Roll Call: Davis, yes Eberly, yes Eger, yes Karrer, yes Shriver, yes Thomas, absent Cost of sp~ed meter $897.60 net, to be delivered January 7, 1958. 4 Bernard Karrer moved the adoption of Resolution No.1-58, being a Resolution Accepting The Amounts and Rates as Determined by the Budget Commission and Authorizing the Necessary Tax Levies and Certifying Them to the County Auditor, duly .seconded by Davis. Roll Calla Davis, yes Eberly, yes Eger, yes Karrer, yes Shriver, yes Thomas, absent A short discussion then ensued as to the trash and garbage collection in the village. Eger thought perhaps the village could pay for such hauling but it was pointed out funds of the village would not permit such an expense. There being no further business, Karrer moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Eberly.
