The regular monthly meeting of the Council of the Village of Dublin was held
March 3, 1958, with Harold Shriver, President of Council presiding:

The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved.
The matter of the Mayor's son being paid was then brought forth for discussion
Solicitor Welch stated this could be ~aken care of by a new ordinance treating said
job on a temporary basis and ordering payment of services already rendered. Thomas
moved the adoption of the following ordinance:
"ORDINANCE NO. 03-58 VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, OHIO
Ordinance appointing William Jones as temporary policeman.
Be it ordained by the Council of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, all six of the
members elected herein concurring:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the authority given by the Code of Ordinances of
the Village of Dublin, Ohio, Council of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, does hereby
provide and create the position of temporary policeman.
SECTION 2. That said temporary policeman shall devote his full time to the
duites required by said position and shall be, in addition, subject to call at all
times.
SECTION 3. Said temporary policeman shall be compensated at the rate of
$1.75 per hour for such time as he has been on duty as hereinafter designated.
SECTION 4. Said temporary policeman shall furnish his own uniform, badge, gun
and other necessary equipment.
SECTION 5. Said temporary policeman shall only be employed for such time as
there is a need for police service in the Village of Dublin when the policemen or
the deputy marshall of the Village of Dublin is not on the active payroll because
of sickness, suspension, disciplinary suspensions or the like.
SECTION 6. Said temporary policeman shall keep a written record of his hours
of his employment and shall-submit the same to the Clerk of the Village of Dublin,
Ohio, at weekly intervals.
SECTION 7. This council hereby ratifies and confirms the appointment of
William Jones and his employment as temporary policeman and ratifies and confirms
and orders the payment to said William Jones of the sum of $119.00 for his services
rendered as temporary policeman to date.
SECTION 8. That this ordinance be and the same is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure necessary for the public safety and gen~ral welfare of the
Village of Dublin, Ohio, for the reason that the foregoing will enable the Village
to have police service and that this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage."
Eger made a motion to suspend the rules, seconded by Davis, vote on suspension of
rules resulted as follows:

Th~s moved all bills be paid with the exception of a Columbus Blank Book bill I
for $160.00 - $100.00 for 1000 ledger sheets, 60.00 for two binders, seconded
by Eger.

Mayor Jones arrived on scene - bill fram Columbus Blank Book was presented
to him for explanation. Clerk was asked to check into the matter.
The Mayor then stated there was no need of all the committees designated
at last meeting. The following committees were named and councilmen to serve
thereon as follows:
Streets & Alleys - Thomas, Eberly and Karrer
Safety Service - Shriver, Eger and Davis
Planning Commission - Harold Shriver
The policemen opposed the payment of their salary just once a month. Thomas
moved a special meeting be held between now and the next regular meeting in order
to approve bills for policemen's salaries. Meetng date to be March 17th at
7:30 P.M. Motion was seconded by Shriver.

Under new business, Thomas opened the discussion regarding a dog catcher.
Thomas moved the Franklin County Dog Warden be notified to pick up any dog in

the Village of Dublin running loose. It was then decided to send out notices
warning the people of the fine if dog is found running loose.
The meeting was then turned over to John Guy relative to the matter brought
up before the Business Men's meeting concerning a water system in Dublin. The
matter is to be further investigated and brought before Council at next meeting.
Eberly moved the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Davis.
