AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE LOWEST/BEST BID FOR
IMPROVEMENTS FOR POST ROAD
"..... IN FRONT OF THE DUBLIN RECREATION
CENTER ENTRANCE OFF OF POST ROAD
.......
WHEREAS, bids have been received for the Improvements for Post Road, from
Sta, 55 + 00 to Sta, 66 + 25; and
WHEREAS, the lowest/best bid is from Strawser Paving Company of Columbus,
Ohio in the amount of $118,941,30; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to provide the Dublin Recreation Center an access
road connection to Post Road in a safe and timely manner; and
WHEREAS, this improvement will fulfill the need as identified in the traffic study
for the Dublin Recreation Center; and
WHEREAS, this improvement is essential prior to opening the Dublin Recreation
Center,
NOW THERE~RE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, of the elected members concurring:

Section 1, That the bid of $118,941,30 from Strawser Paving Company be
....... and hereby is, accepted,
Section 2, That the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to enter into a
contract with Strawser Paving Comapny for completion of said project pursuant
to the bid specifictions and documents on file in the office of the City Engineer,
Section 3, That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare
of the residents of this City, and for the further reason that this public
improvement must be completed prior to the opening of the Dublin Recreation
Center, in order to provide for safer traffic movements at this critical location,
and, therefore, that this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately
upon it's passage,

On Wednesday, November 1, 1995, bids were received and publicly
opened and read for the subject project, Three bids were received
as shown on the attached bid form. It is recommended that the
project be awarded to Strawser Paving Company in an amount of
$118,941.30. The Engineer's estimate for this project was
$143,000.
$75,000 was originally appropriated for this improvement in the
Capital Improvement Tax Fund. Additional funds are available in
the Capital Improvement budget line 40-03-14-2550 for completion of
this work without adversely affecting other projects,
Attached is an Ordinance for approval as soon as possible by City
Council prior to the award of this contract to
