The matter of a Beer "Carry-out" was brought before Council. Council determined there was nothing for them to d~ that it was completely up to the individual wanting same. Shriver moved eouncil purchase typewriter from Johnny Geese for the amount of $85.00, seconded by ~ger. Vote thereon was as follows: Davis, yes; Eberly, absent; Eger, yes; Karrer, yes; Shriver, yes; Thomas, yes. Discussion then followed as to giving the Clerk authority to pay police salaries on the 16th of the month. Davis moved the adoption of the following ordinance: "ORDINANCE NO. 05-58 OF THE VILLAGE OF DUBUN, OHIO. Ordinance fixing payroll dates for payment of wages due to depaty marsha~ II and policeman. Be it ordained by the Council of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, all five members present therein concurring: 11 I(] 1'1 iii r 19 SECfION 1. That the -deputy marshall and the policeman employed by the Village of Dublin, Ohio, shall be paid their salaries and wages on a semi-monthly basis and that said wages shall be due and payable on the 15th day of each month and on the 1st day of each month. SECTIQN 2. That the village Mayor shall submit to the Clerk of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, on the 15th day of each month and on the last day of each month a written record of the hours of employment of each of the two individuals and .shall have on said written record the approval of said village Mayor verifying the number of hours of employment. SECTION 3. That the Clerk of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, is hereby directed, instructed and authorized to pay to the deputy marshall and the policeman the wages due them in accordance with the payroll report as approved by the village Mayor. The rate of pay per hour to be the current rate in force by any ordinance or ordinances of the Village of Dublin, Ohio. Said clerk shall then report to council at the next regular council meeting the number of hours approved by the village Mayor for the deputy marshall and the policeman and the amount of money paid to each. Said clerk shall be entitled to rely solely upon the reports of the record of employment as submitted by the village Mayor. SECTION 4. That this ordinance be, and ~he same is hereby declared to be an emergency ~easure ,ne.cessary .for the public safety and general welfare of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, for the reason tmt the foregoing will enable the village to have police service ~pq,that t~is ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage." Karrer moved to suspend rules, seconded by Eger. Upon roll call the vote thereon was as follows. Davis, yes, Eberly, absent, Eger, yes, Karrer, yes, Shriver, yeSJ Thomas, yes. The meeting was then turned over to the Service Committee. Shriver, speaking on behalf of the Committee; wanted to know:whatthe other members of Council thought of buying a new cruiser. After much discussion, it was the consensus of Council the Village was in dire need of a new cruiser. Service Committee recommended a new cruiser be bought which would cost approximately $1500.00. Davis ,moved the adoption of the following Ordinance 1 . , ,. . . , ~ "ORDINANCE NO. 05-58 (a) OF THE VILLAGE OF DUBLIN, OHIO. Ordinance requiesting bids on purchase of new police curiser and requesting bids on sale of present police cruiser. - Be it ordained by the Council of the Village of DubJi~, Ohio, all five members present therein concurring. i. SECTION 1. That the legislative authority of the Village of Dublin, finds that the present 1956 Chevrolet police cruiser is unfit for public use and further finds that the said Village of Dublin has need of another vehicle of the same type and furiber finds that it will be for the best in;erests of the Municipal Corporation that the sale of the obsolete and unfit existing police cruiser be made simultaneously with the purchase of a new police cruiser. Council further finds that it will be for the best interests of 20 the corporation to have the selling price for the 1956 cruiser quoted against the purchase price of the new vehicle and to consumate the,sale and purchase by a single contract with the lowest and best bidder to be determined'by subtracting from the selling price 'of the vehicle to be purchased the purchase price offered to the Municipality for the trade-in. SECTION 2. Notice of accepting bids on the purchase of the new cruiser and the I:' sale of the old cruiser shall be published three consecutive weeks in the Worthington News. Said publishing dates to be May 15th, May 22nd, and May 29th. SECTION. 3. That .all.bid$ $hall be opend by the Clerk .of the -Village of IAlblin on May 31, 1958. That.a bond or a 'certifiedcheck in the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) accompany each bid. SECTION 4. That this ordinance be and the same hereby is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of .the public peace, safety and the general welfare for the reason that said cruiser is needed to provide adequate police protection in the Village of Dublin, Ohio; and this ordinance shall 'take effect and be ili force immediately upon passage and publicat~on." , Thomas seconded the adoption of the ordinance and upon Toll call, the vote thereon follows I Davis, yes; Eberly, absent; Eger, yes; Karrer, yes; Shriver, yes; Thomas, yes. Thomas,. speaking on behalf of Street Committee stated streets were going to be I,',"'. fixed clear up to traffic light without cost to village. Mayor Jones informed council that his boys would not be work~ng for the Village during the summer months. Discussion ensued and it was agreed H. A. Bailey would continue to wi1rk for the _'llllage and if additional help was. needed - that would be taken care of at a later date. Other matters which came to attention of Council were - school zone and cross-walks were to be striped. Eger moved we agree to surface treatment program - being our share of high school road,. .seconded -by. Da'ltis. It was agreed "dry trash" collection to be the last Tuesday of each month. Eger moved the above date be set definitely, seconded by Davis. Charles Thomas moved the adoption of the following resolution: "VILUGE OF DUBLIN, FRANKLIN COUNTY - STA'l'E OF OHIO DUBLIN ROAD IMPROVElBNT: WHEREAS, plans ft)r the improvement of Dublin Road were pre.ented by the Franklh County EngineeriDg Department for approval bY'the Village Couoil aDd their partioipation, am 1ffiRR~AS, a portion 01' the Dublin Road ImprovElllct from the south oorporation line northerly to State Route No. 161, a distaDOe 01' 0.69 miles, is wi thiB the oorporate limits 01' the Village of DubliB, JIl".
