\ To: Members of Dublin City Council
....... From: Timothy C. Hansley, City Manager
Subject: Amendment to Ordinance No. 23-93 ("Compensation Plan")
Date: September 12, 1996
Attached for your consideration is Ordinance No. 94-96 amending the existing "Compensation Plan"
(Ordinance No. 23-93) to formally establish a pay grade for the Director of Grounds & Facilities
classification title. Given that Council has already adopted an amended Functional Table of
Organization showing a Division of Grounds & Facilities and that the employee serving informally
in the role of Division Head for that Division has been performing at that level since August 1, 1996,
I hereby recommend that a formal pay grade be adopted for the Director position. I would further
recommend that this position be assigned to pay grade 21 in the existing "Compensation Plan", which
would place this position at the same level as the other two Division Heads (Director of Streets &
Utilities and Director of Parks & Recreation). Pay grade 21 has a pay range of$38,911 - $54,805.
Passage of this legislation will enable me to compensate the incumbent of this position, in the short
run, at a level more commensurate with the increased level of responsibility, until which time the
Classification & Compensation Study recommendations and corresponding legislation should be
- adopted.
