HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 68-13RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Bl Inc., F N 300 Resolution No. 68 -13 Passed . 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE HISTORIC DISTRICT STREET LIGHT REPLACEMENT WITH LED UPGRADE PROJECT El WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the Historic District Street Light Replacement with LED Upgrade project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, , E: of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. in the total amount of $582 is hereby accepted. Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. for performance and completion of the Historic District Street Light Replacement with LED Upgrade project, pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Hammersmith, P.E., Director of Engineering /City Engineer Memo Re: Resolution No. 68 -13 - Historic District Street Light Replacement with LED Upgrade Summary On November 7, 2013, three (3) bids were received, publicly opened and read for the Historic District Street Light Replacement with LED Upgrade 2013 (13- 027 -CIP) project. This project involves acquiring the materials for Engineering staff to replace the existing street lights in the Historic District with an upgrade of the lighting fixtures to LED (light emitting diode) technology for energy savings and reduced maintenance needs. The Engineer's estimate is $600,000.00. Funds for this project are budgeted from the bond proceeds for the LED street lights issued in 2012. Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid of $582,325.00. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids is listed below. The scheduled completion date for the project is by the end of 2014. Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid proposal. Previous experience with Consolidated Electrical Distributors has been favorable, including these recent projects: • LED Streetlight Retrofitting Project 2012, currently replacing standard street lights in Dublin; • Light Emitting Diode Street Light Retrofit undertaken by Facilities in 2011/2012. Recommendation Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution 68 -13, accepting as lowest and best the bid of Consolidated Electric Distributors in the amount of $ 582,325.00 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Consolidated Electric Distributors for this project.
