WHEREAS, the City ot Columbua and adjacent oommuni ties w.e a
uniform system ot house numbering, and

WHEREAS, 'bhe uninoorpora'bed portions of the oounty employ no
uniform publioly administered,. system, and
WllERIAS, a few oommuni ties not adjacent to the oentral area
use the Columbus sytem wii;h others using 'bheir own system, and
WHEREAS, the mul'biplioity of numbering systems or a total
laok of any systemtoge'bher wi'bh the duplioa'bion of s'breet names
throughout both unincorporated and inoorporated areas of the ooun'by
presen'b a oonfusing pioture, and
WHEREAS, the post offioe departnent is oonstAntly faoed with
the problem of mail delivery to the wrong address, and
WHEREAS, dootors, polioe, fire departmen'bs, delivery men
and out of town visitors often experienoe great diffioulty in reaohing
destinations, and

WHEREAs, the Franklin County Regional Planning Commission has
reoommended and will prepare a uniform system ot house numberings,
a unitorm system of str~et naming and a plan tor the elimination ot
street name duplioation, all to be proposed tor adoption throughout
Franklin County inoluding all munioipalities,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Dublin oounoil hereby goes on
reoord supporting the .plan proposed and 'bo be prepared by the
Franklin.Coun'ty Regional Planning Commission tor house numbering
s'breet na.dng and the elimination ot the duplication of street ·
names. and that the neoessary proo~dure will be tollowed to put suoh
a plan into effeot upon oompletion, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that upon adoption ot this resolution,
the Franklin Coun~ Regional Planning Commission be otioially notified.

ORDINANCE RATIFYIliG EMPLOYJIElfT OF VILLAGE SOLICITOR FIll mE YEAR 1'59.
DETERJmiING '!HE COllPENSATlON OF '!HE VILLAGE SOLICITOR OF THE VILLAGE
OF DUBLIN, OHIO AND DELARATION OF EMERGENCY.

Be it ordained by the Council of the Village ot Dublin, Ohio,
conourred in by the following who oonstitute a majority of the six
me1J1bers elected:. ..

/s Bernard Karrer /s/ Riohard A. Bellows
SECTIONL. That Richard H. Brandon, attorney at law, 8211 Riverside
Drive, Powell, Ohio is hereby employed and has been employed effeotive
February 2, 1969 for the balanoe of the oalendar year 1959, and that. said
solicitor shall b. paid the sum ot '150.00 per year tor ord~ servioes
as solioitorinoluding informal opinions and attending regular monthly
oounoil meetings of not less than eight (8) per year. That said solicitor
be paid additional oompensation as follows:
(a) For the preparation of ordinanoes, resolutions, memorandums,
oontraots, and legal opinions at the rate of $10.00 per hour.
(b) For attendanoe at prooeedings in the Mayor I s Court at the rate
of $10.00 per hour.
(0) For legal servioes inoident to the proseo~t'on or defense of
legal prooeedings, at the rate ot '10.00 per hour for office
work and $125.00 per day for trial work in ~ oourt of record.
That said solioitor shall bill the Village quarterly and shall be
paid quarterlY,for all servioesrendered as 'olicitor.
SECTlOli 2. That this ordinance be and the same is her8~ declarfd

welfare of the Village of Dublin, Ohio, for the reason that the
foregoing ratification of employment and schedule of payment for
,legal services will enable the Village of obtai nand retain the
services of a solicitor and that this ordinance shall take effect
and be in force immediately upon its passage.
