HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 59-13RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc _ Form No. 30045 59 -13 Resolution No. Passed ___, 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE SCIOTO PARK RESTROOM REPLACEMENT PR03ECT WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code for the Scioto Park Restroom Replacement Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by 2K General Company, Inc. in the amount of $350,000 constitutes the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, the funding for this project has been programmed in the 2013 CIP budget. NOyV, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The base bid submitted by 2K General Company, Inc. in the total amount of $350,000.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with 2K General Company, Inc.. for performance and completion of the Scioto Park Restroom Replacement Project, pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the Director of Parks & Open Space. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Code. Passed this day of Qeld -b3f y , 2013. Grigsby, City ManagervA�-- Date: October 10, 2013 Initiated By: Fred Hahn, Director of Parks & Open Space Re: Resolution 59 -13 — Scioto Park Restroom Replacement Project Background Memo On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 bids were open for the Scioto Park Restroom Replacement Project. Five (5) bids were received: The funds for this project are part of the 2013 CIP budget for the in the amount of $435,000. The base bid estimate for this project was $370,041. The work consists of demolition of the existing the restroom facility and all labor and material necessary for the construction of a new restroom facility. Included in this contract is the installation of public sewer and water. The construction period is for 120 days, but given winter's approach, this time frame is expected to be extended into spring 2014. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning room. Recommendation Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 59 -13, accepting 2K General Company, Inc's base bid of $350,000. 2K General Company, Inc. has completed work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be most satisfactory.
