A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE RIVER FOREST SANITARY
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of the
Dublin Code for the River Forest Sanitary Improvement Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Danbert, Inc.
constitutes the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, the 2007 Community Plan includes an objective to provide for the safe
and efficient collection of wastewater generated by the community.
NO THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by Danbert, Inc. in the total amount of $211,217.00
is hereby accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with
Danbert, Inc. for the River Forest Sanitary Improvement Project, pursuant to the
Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office
of the City Engineer.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect upon passage in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Acceptance
Summary
On September 3, 2013, three (3) bids were received, publicly opened and read for the River Forest
Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project. This project involves eight (8) individual point repairs on the
existing eight -inch sanitary sewer system located within the River Forest subdivision and the
construction of seven (7) new sanitary sewer manholes to replace existing cleanouts.
In the 2013 -2017 Capital Improvements Program (project ES1302), $310,000 was budgeted within
the Sewer fund for this project. The Engineer's estimate was $240,000. Danbert, Inc. submitted the
lowest and best bid of $211,217.00. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids is listed
below.

Staff anticipates the construction to commence on March 1, 2014. The scheduled completion date for
the project is June 15, 2014. For Council's reference and review, a reduced set of project construction
drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room.
The River Forest subdivision residents will be contacted by staff in February 2014 to notify them of
the improvements. Direct contact will be made with individual residents where the work will take
place to coordinate any concerns or issues.
Recommendation
Staff has thoroughly reviewed the Danbert Inc. bid. Danbert, Inc. currently is performing the 2013
Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Project and the 2013 Storm Sewer Maintenance Project. Staff continues
to be pleased with the attention to detail and performance of Danbert, Inc.
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution 53 -13, accepting as lowest and best the bid of
Danbert, Inc. in the amount of $211,217.00 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract
with Danbert, Inc. for this project.
