RE: Salt Bids
DATE: June 30, 1986
After required advertising bids were opened at 12:00 Noon on Monday June 30,
1986 for Salt for Snow and Ice removal for the Winter of 1986-87 with the
following results:
COMPANY BID
-
Morton Thiokol, Inc. $31.70 per ton
Cargill Salt Company $31. 50 per ton
International Salt Company $30.13 per ton
Domtar Industries, Inc. $29.81 per ton
I would recommend acceptance of the low bid from Domtar Industries
at $29.81 per ton and would request emergency legislation to assure
this quoted price through March 31, 1987.
For comparison purposes, last years low bid was from International at
$29.70 per ton which, in my opinion, would indicate that this bid from
Domtar is a very good bid.
Respectfully submitted,
A~4//~
