Form No. 30043 Ordinance No. 102-89 Passedn ~ ~n n__Un ~nnn~______n~~19___n --- ------------ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 81-89 - REGULATING STREET SIGNAGE IN THE CITY OF DUBLIN, OHIO WHEREAS, the Public Service Committee, after meeting with representatives of various civic organizations, has developed a series of recommendations regulating street signage; and WHEREAS, it is Council's desire to adopt these recommendations. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring that: Section 1. Standard street signage within the City of Dublin shall conform to the following requirements: (a) All signs to be brown with reflective letters mounted on brown four- sided, breakaway posts; (b) Signage for residential streets shall be 9" by 36" in size. Signage for main streets shall be 12" x 48". - Section 2. Existing non-standard or distinctive signage shall conform to the following: (a) Previously approved non-standard or distinctive signage within a sub- division may be retained so long as reflective lettering is utilized thereon; (b) As sign posts are replaced, they must be of the breakaway type approved by the City; (c) As to areas located within the control of a civic or neighborhood .... association, said association shall be required to purchase and obtain conforming signage. Such signage shall either be installed by the association in a manner approved by the City or, if the association requests, by the City. The City shall charge the civic or neighbor- hood association a fee for installation of sign posts not to exceed $15.00 per post per installation. Section 3. When a subdivision requests that the City remove non-standard or distinctive signage and install standard signage, no fee shall be assess d for said removal and replacement of those signs. However, the City shall determine, based upon budgetary concerns, the timing of such removal and replacement. Any distinctive sign posts removed by the City shall become the property of the City. Section 4. All signage within the City of Dublin shall be brought into conformance with the terms and provisions set forth herein within thirty six (36) months from the effective date of this Ordinance, except that signage within the Village of Muirfield subdivision shall be modified to include reflective paintwithin eighteen (18) months from the effective date of this ordinance. Section 5. That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
