AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT A PROPOSAL FOR THE EXPANSION OF
THE SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION ~ AMENDING
THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS AND WAIVING
FORMAL BIDDING AND ADVERTISING REQUIRE-
MENTS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS ~ the present sanitary sewerage system within the City of Dublin
should be expanded in order to meet increased demands during times of
peak flows; and,
WHEREAS ~ Dublin City Council has reviewed the proposal from H. F.
MeClory and Company for the provision of said expansion of services;
and,
WHEREAS, H. F. McClory and Company~ who constructed the original lift
station and has undertaken all previous expansions at competitive
prices, has provided a quote of $l84,000.00 for the construction of this
expansion, which will meet the needs of the City and will be compatible
with the existing lift station equipment and design.
NOW~ THEREFORE ~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring:
Seetion l. That the City Manager, be, and hereby is, authorized to
enter into a contract for construction and design services to facilitate
the expansion of the Dublin sanitary sewer lift station.
Section 2. That an amount not to exceed $2l5,000.00 for these services,
contingencies and for the purchase of additional standby equipment, is
hereby authorized and that the $650,000 previously appropriated within
the Sanitary Sewer Fund, account number E02-05-5C-234A, for contract
services be utilized for this purpose with the balance being available
for engineering services related to the West Bank Sewer.
Section 3. That this Ordinance be, and hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure due to the need to undertake this required expansion
as soon as possible. This expansion will directly affect the City's
ability to maintain the health and welfare of this Community by reducing
the possibility of sewerage overloads during periods of peak demands and
flows. Therefore, formal bidding and advertising requirements are
hereby waived pursuant to Section 735.05.0l of the Ohio Revised Code,
and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon
its passage.
