MEMORANDUM
TO: Members of Dublin City Council
FROM: Timothy C. Hansley, City Manager (
SUBJECT: Proposed Amendment to Ordinance No. 17-90
DATE: May 3, 1990
BY: David L. Harding, Director of Personnel and Purchasing *
Attached for your consideration please find Ordinance No. 47-90 amending Section 12
("EXEMPT AND NON-EXEMPT JOB CLASSIFICATIONS"), subsection A. of Ordinance No. 17-90
("Compensation Plan"). This amendment is being proposed due to the reason that
it was recently discovered that a particular "Exempt" category under Section 12,
subsection A. was inadvertently omitted during the typing of Ordinance No. 17-90.
The particular category in question involves recreational employees and includes
Seasonal Full-Time Maintenance Personnel and Summer Recreation Staff. Pursuant
to the Fair Labor Standards Act, these employees are considered to be exempt
from the overtime provisions of said Act. Therefore, Ordinance No. 17-90 needs
to be amended to include said "Recreational" category as noted above.
