SUBJECT: Early release of "Requests For Proposal" - RFP
DATE: January 12, 1988
During this coming construction season, I believe some
projects are critical enough that they should be under
construction during this coming construction season. On the
assumption that I have carefully selected those critical
projects, it is imperative that engineering be started at
the earliest opportunity. If I should have erred by
including a project which can or should wait to begin
construction in another year, the City will simply have
plans for a future but needed project on the shelf.
Two critical projects for the 1988 construction season are:
1. Water pressure booster station.
2. 16 inch waterline extension along SR 745 south of
Brand Road.
It is requested that RFP's be authorized for distribution to
interested and eligible consultants. It is further requested
this be authorized on or before January 25, 1988. It is
anticipated to allow four weeks for preparation of
proposals; therefore, proposals will be submitted by the end
of February. Award of the engineering services contract
could occur soon thereafter with design of the two projects
beginning as early as mid March 1988.
