AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ANNUAL
APPROPRIATIONS ORDINANCE FOR FISCAL
1988, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, the Ohio Revised Code requires, when necessary, that amendments
be made to the Annual Appropriations; and
WHEREAS, amendments to Ordinance No. 31-88, the Annual Appropriations
Ordinance for fiscal 1988 are now required due to specific donations,
insurance claims, and an additional brochure distribution in the Parks
and Recreation Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring that Ordinance No. 31-88
be, and it hereby is, amended as follows:
Sect ion 1. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in
the Parks and Recreation Fund the total sum of $6,145.00 to be distributed
as follows:
B04-03-3A Recreation Program
Other Expenses $3,800.00
Recreation Supplies 900.00
B04-03-3B Park Maintenance Programs
Other Expenses 500.00
Capital Out lay 260.00
B04-03-3G Special Events
Other Expenses 685.00
The amendments increase the total appropriations in the Parks and Recreati n
Fund from $566,600.00 to $572,745.00.
Section 2. That this Ordinance be, and it hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure necessary to preserve the public health, safety and
welfare as required by law, and therefore shall take effect and be in forc
immediately upon its passage.

SUBJECT: Appropriation Amendments
DATE: September 15, 1988
Report initiated by Nan prushing, Finance Director and Janet Jordan,
Parks & Recreation Director.
Summary and Action Recommended
A review of the status of current accounts in the Parks and Recreation
portion of the operating budget in conjunction with an analysis of
. programs and other departments operations remaining for the balance of
1988 has revealed some necessary adjustments to appropriations. It is
requested that this Ordinance be adopted as emergency legislation in
order to prevent any interruption in program activities and allow for
adequate preparation for fall/winter operations.
Issue
-
The Parks and Recreation Department has received 3 special donations
from outside agencies which were earmarked for specific purposes under
the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director. In addition, the
Parks and Recreation budget suffered some unanticipated costs to
replace trees on public grounds as a result of accidents. The costs
will be recovered by insurance claims. Also, the Parks and Recreation
Department have decided to distribute separate fall and winter program
brochures to provide better service and information to the public.
Data Collection and Analysis
The donations received are as follows:
Dublin Women's Club to purchase 10 folding tables - $ 900.00
Dublin Board of Realtors for a park bench to be
placed by the Irish Flower Bed in Coffman Park - $ 500.00
July 4th donations from various Dublin businesses - $ 685.00
Insurance claims total - $ 260.00
Addition program brochure is - $ 3,800.00
