September- 1 '3 , 1984 fO: Councilmembers FROM: Sherman Sheldon - Manager RE: Cruiser Bids After required advertising, bids were received on Wednesday September 12, 1984 for two (2) new cruisers, less trade-ins as follows: Graham Ford two ( 2 ) 1985 L.T.D. 's $18,150.00 McDorman Chevrolet two (2) new 1984 Impalas $16,537.68 Kreiger Ford two (2 ) 1985 Crown Victorias $16,189.28 Because of the high mileage on the cruisers to be traded, one of the prime considerations is the delivery date and, since I could be assured of immediate delivery on the 1984 Impalas, I would recommend that Council accept the bid of Bob McDorman Chevrolet in the amount of $16,537.68 as the lowest/best bid. Estimated delivery date on the 1985's is 90-120 days. In my opinion, repair costs on the two ( 2 ) trade-ins would greatly exceed the difference in these two (2 ) lowest bids over this 90-120 day period, said difference being $348.40.
