AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH THE MAXIMUM
AMOUNT OF CASH ON HAND TO BE RETAINED
BY VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, ORDINANCE NO. 02-84 established a cash fund of $75.00 to be
retained for Mayor's Court activities; and,
WHEREAS, the Mayor's Court financial transactions are now under the
supervision of the Finance Department; and,
WHEREAS, both the Police Department, Parks and Recreation Department,
and Administration Department require cash on hand to conduct business,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Vi 11age of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That cash boxes to make change will be maintained in the
following departments for the purpose indicated:
Finance Department $75.00 Mayor's Court Transactions
Police Department $20.00 Charges for Copies of Reports
Parks & Recreation Department $20.00 Program Fees
Administration $20.00 Permit Fees
Section 2. That the Department Head or his/her designee will be responsi-
ble for maintaining these cash funds and that the person issuing a
receipt is responsible for transmitting said funds with an attached copy
of the receipt to the Finance Department daily, as provided by State
law; and,
Section 3. That these funds are to be used to make change only and not
for payment of petty cash items from the department; and,
Section 4. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency, in
order to preserve the public peace, health, and safety and to permit each
department to continue to properly conduct business transactions, and
therefore, this Ordinance sha 11 take effect and be in force immediately
upon its passage.
