AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION Of VILLAGE fORESTER AND DEfiNING THE DUTIES AND COMPEN- I SAT ION fOR SAID POSITION_ WHEREAS, i n the implementation of a master plan of development and expansion of the parks and recreation program of the Village end the$ervetion of existing end contempleted environment of the Viii e, ~ person is needed to control, inspect and direct the ord rly development and expansion of said natural resource_ NOW, THEREfORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: SECTION I. There~be and hereby is created the position of Vil- lage of Dublin forester to be appointed in the manner provided in Section 521 of the Zoning Code. SECTION 2. Said Villa~e of Dublin forester shall have such dutie as are enumerated in Section 521 of the Zoning Code, Ordinance 21-70 and such duties as shall from time to time be determined by the Village Administrator or his successor under the Charter form of Government of the Village. SECTION 3. Said Village forester shall possess the qualification I and be able to perform the typical tasks contained in the Exhibit A, attached hereto, and made a part hereof as fully as if repeat- ed herein. SECTION . The compensation for said Village forester shall be . . . - -- dete~mlhed by the administrator, subject to such increments or merit raises as shall be permitted under the merit system adopted under Dublin's Charter form of Government of which the position of Village forester shall be a part_ SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in, force from and after the earliest period allowed by law. Prepares copy fo.r news releases; , Reviews and makes findings on landscape plans. jtc.<t,i- ~"^1 .C-6mIY1IH/,.., REQUIRED GENERAL EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING (at time OT filing application) Any combination of. training and experience equivalent to the possession of ,a degree in forestry, horticulture, landscape arch.cture. agriculture. or aboriculture and three years of experience planting and caring for shade and ornamental trees, or in, landscaping or in large-scale nursery operations. I Possession of a valid State of Ohio motor, vehicle operator's license. DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND 'ABILITIES . Considerable knowledge of aboriculture as it applies to the planting and care of trees indigenous to Central Ohio; ability to plan. direct and coordinate a' large-scale program of tree culture and disease control; ability, to write and speak effectively; ability to develop and maintain effective working relation" ships with associates. supervisors and the public; ability. to supervise others; abil ity to maintain records and prepare reports.
